I started my candidacy because I believe in an ethic of service to others, and I am opposed to the politics of divisiveness and self-interest. I believe that we are one united community, where people are proud to look out for one another, and generous with their time, talents, and resources when a neighbor is in need. I stand for real, long-term economic recovery and fiscal responsibility, and I’ve proven that through my actions. When I go to church, I see Democrats, Republicans, and independents praying together for a better world. Clark County is one united community, and we need to work together to solve our problems.

I also run a nonprofit organization that helps people find work and move up in their lives. We work on job creation, economic growth, dropout prevention, and other strategies that help people improve their lives while strengthening our economy and our society. In previous positions, I’ve worked as a state budget analyst, a governor’s policy advisor, and a state legislative liaison. Now, I would like to combine my commitment to serving others and my nuts-and-bolts experience in the details of government.
As your Representative, I will stand for effectiveness and measurable results, backed up by a strong ethic of public service. I have taken a public position for fiscal responsibility in several local newspapers, and I will continue to stand for fiscal responsibility. I will work to reduce poverty through education, job skills, and work. I will work to expand and strengthen the middle class, because a strong middle class is the foundation for a thriving society. And I will stand for all of us: businesses, workers, students, and all the people in our community. There is much more that unites us than divides us.
